ASM Credit holds a money lending license under the Moneylenders Act, 1953 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASMB. The company provides services that are complementary to ASMB's venture capital / mezzanine financing activities, such as  the extension of credit facilities  to support an investee company's financing requirements. It may also have the alternative of direct equity investment through subscribing for convertible loan stocks with debt to equity conversion features (or as a tool to finance venture capital structured transactions such as bumiputera subscriptions, Management Buy-Outs (MBOs), etc.)

The credit facility would have a pre-determined interest rate, an option to convert the loan into equity or a pre-agreed repayment schedule depending on the nature of transaction and may be secured by tangible security such as landed properties or machineries. In addition to the abovementioned venture capital financing activities, the company also undertakes share-financing activities for both corporations and high networth individuals.
