In line with the development in promoting and marketing of unit trust funds in Malaysia, ASM Investment has developed its own Agency Services in 1994. A unit known as the Agency Services Unit was created and placed under the Marketing, Promotion and Customer Service Department of the Business Development Division.

The main objective of setting up the Agency Services Unit is to facilitate the registration of unit trust consultans (UTC)and their career development. Recognising the importance of UTCs in promoting and marketing of unit trust funds, ASM Investment will continuously find ways to improve the agency force by providing motivation and training to its UTCs. The UTCs are provided with special training which will eventually equip them with the technical know-how of investments and financial planning. The UTCs will not only provide information on our unit trust funds but will also assist and advise clients in financial planning.

Unit trust consultants who prefer to be independent and who are not interested to lead an agency force (recruit 'down-lines'), could choose to become a Career Agent. The Career Agent enjoys the same commission rate as the Agency Supervisor but will not have any 'down-line' to enjoy any overriding commission.

All Unit Trust Consultants must register with FIMM and passed the examination conducted by FIMM. The purpose of the examination is to have standard of professionalism into all unit trust agents.

The examination conducted twice a month in Klang Valley and once a month nationwide. The state center of the examination is Perak, Penang, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak.
