CASH INCOME DISTRIBUTION OF 6.0 SEN NET PER UNIT FOR ASM BALANCED FUND
ASM MARA Unit Trust Management Berhad (ASM MARA Unit Trust) has declared an income distribution for ASM Balanced Fund (ASM Balanced) for financial year ended 30 November 2002. All 1,360 registered unitholders of ASM Balanced as at that date are entitled to the distribution. The income distribution will be made in the form 6.0 sen cash per unit. This year’s distribution is an improvement to last year’s income distribution of 2.0 sen additional units to its unitholders.
ASM Balanced was formerly known as ASM Tanjung Piai Balanced Fund. Before turning this fund into a public unit trust fund, it was only opened to Bumiputera investors only and was formerly known as as Kumpulan Modal Bumiputra Yang Kesembilan (KMB 9). KMB 9 was relaunched in 1997 as ASM Tanjung Piai Balanced and open to the public. As there was no significant impact on the objective of the fund, the name Tanjung Piai was dropped and assumed its present name as ASM Balanced Fund. Following the relaunch, the maximum size of the fund was increased from 20 million units (KMB 9) to 100 million units.
ASM MARA Unit Trust Investors who invest 1,000 units and above are given free life insurance coverage on the basis of RM1.00 for every unit held. Minimum investment coverage is 1,000 units and the maximum coverage is RM200,000.00. Corporate and institutional investors will be given five (5) free units for every 1,000 units purchased. The cost of units is borne by the Manager.
The objective of ASM Balanced is to provide investors with steady income and capital growth over the medium to long-term.
The investment policy and strategies of ASM Balanced include equities and fixed income securities. Under normal market condition, equities exposure will be up to 60% of the fund and the balance in fixed income securities. The equity portfolio may increase to 70%:30% during uptrend market performance or reduce to 50%:50% when the market weakens. The focus will be on securities of selected Malaysian companies, which meet the Fund’s criteria in terms of operations soundness, financial strength, future earnings and growth potential.
ASM Balanced is strongly recommended to mature investors who are risk-averse and prefer to gain less return as long as the risk of their investment is lower. ASM Balanced is also suitable for those who wishes to have an education plan for their child’s education or for a sound retirement plan.
ASM MARA Unit Trust is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amanah Saham Mara Berhad. ASM MARA Unit Trust is one of the fund management institutions approved for the EPF Investment Scheme. All EPF contributors may choose to invest in any unit trust funds managed by ASM MARA Unit Trust.
