Kuala Lumpur, 20th February – ASM Index Fund, a unit trust fund managed by ASM MARA Unit Trust was awarded the Lipper Award for best fund for one year performance under equity index tracking fund. The award was presented by Mr. Andrew Ogilvie, Manager, Lipper Asia. Puan Noor Supiah Ahmad, Senior Manager Business Development represented ASM MARA Unit Trust. ASM Asset Management Sdn. Bhd, the External Fund Manager was represented by Mr. Isnami Ahmad Mokhtar.

ASM Index Fund was ranked the best of 8 funds by Lipper in the equity index tracking category. ASM Index Fund also outperformed the market and industry return of negative 5.43% and negative 1.25% respectively for 1 year return and ASM Index Fund itself gave a return of 2.89% per year as at 27 December 2002.

At the Lipper Malaysian Unit Trust Award ceremony, 30 funds from various category were awarded. ASM MARA Unit Trust had previously won the Lipper award for Dana Al-Aiman and Kumpulan Modal Bumiputera Keempat under the equity/syariah and equity: growth and income fund category respectively in 1998 for 2 years and one year performance
